The median price of a decorative light fitting in Nigeria is ₦220,000. That figure comes from 402 live listings at Lights Architect as of September 2026. Chandeliers are the most expensive category at a median of ₦350,000, outdoor wall lights the cheapest at ₦15,000. Just under half the range, 46.5%, sits below ₦200,000, and 72% sits below ₦300,000. Five things the data shows
1. The naira figure most people quote is too high
Ask around and you will hear that luxury lighting in Lagos starts at half a million naira. The median listing is ₦220,000, and 72% of the catalogue sits under ₦300,000. The very expensive pieces are real, but they are 10% of the range, not the centre of it.
2. Chandeliers have the widest spread of any category
From ₦65,000 to ₦1,500,000, a spread of roughly 23 times between the cheapest and the most expensive. No other category comes close. It means the word chandelier tells you almost nothing about budget on its own, and that a buyer asking for a price needs to specify size, ceiling height and material first.
3. Only 11% of chandeliers come in under ₦200,000
Of 160 chandeliers, 17 are priced below ₦200,000 and 56 below ₦300,000. So a ₦300,000 budget opens about a third of the chandelier range. A ₦200,000 budget mostly moves a buyer into pendants, where 90% of the range is available at that level.
4. Lamps cost more than buyers expect
Table lamps carry a median of ₦230,000 and floor lamps ₦235,000, both above the ₦192,500 median for ceiling lights. A single marble or crystal table lamp often costs more than the ceiling fitting in the same room, which surprises most buyers planning a scheme.
5. Outdoor wall lights are the cheapest category by a wide margin
A median of ₦15,000 against ₦98,000 for indoor wall lights. The reason is category composition rather than quality: the outdoor range is dominated by compact weatherproof fittings for walkways, gates and perimeter walls, where the job is illumination rather than decoration. The one decorative outdoor piece in the range is priced at ₦140,000.

Methodology
The index is built from every active listing in the Lights Architect catalogue on the date shown at the top of this page. Each listing contributes its lowest variant price, so a fixture sold in several sizes is counted at its entry price. Prices are in Nigerian naira, inclusive of the fitting only, and exclude delivery, installation and bulbs where bulbs are sold separately.
The sample is 402 category listings covering 388 unique products. The gap of 14 exists because some fittings genuinely belong in two categories, such as a stone wall light rated for both indoor and outdoor use, and those are counted once in each category they appear in.
Median is reported alongside the average throughout, because a small number of chandeliers above ₦900,000 pull the average well above the price a typical buyer pays. Where a category holds fewer than five listings, shown in the listings column, treat the figures as indicative rather than statistically meaningful.
The index is recalculated quarterly. Naira prices move with import costs and the exchange rate, so figures more than one quarter old should be treated as historical.

Do these prices include installation?
No. The index covers the price of the fitting only. Delivery, electrician labour and ceiling anchoring are separate, and anchoring in particular matters for heavy chandeliers on Nigerian POP ceilings.
